The pharmacy in the BI-LO grocery store on Main Street in Woodruff will close after Tuesday, June 16.
Southeastern Grocers (SEG), BI-LO’s parent company, confirmed the closing of the pharmacy and said they are working with the local Walgreens to ensure a smooth transition for the pharmacy customers.
The BI-LO store will remain open and operate normally, according to SEG.
The Woodruff BI-LO is not part of the Food Lion acquisition. On June 3, Food Lion announced it has entered into a transaction to purchase 62 BI-LO/Harveys Supermarket stores in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia from SEG.
“Following the successful completion of the Food Lion transaction, Southeastern Grocers will pursue strategic options, including potential transactions, for the remaining (61) BI-LO stores and (2) additional Harveys stores. In the interim, [the stores] will remain open and continue to operate normally,” said Kaley Shaffer, senior manager of consumer communications and community affairs at SEG.
SEG does not have any further details to share at this time regarding the remaining stores.
