The Woodruff Fishing Team gathered on Friday, May 8th, at Antioch Baptist Church for its seasonal banquet, marking an evening of celebration, reflection, and individual recognition for its members.

During the event, 22 anglers were officially awarded their varsity letters. The letter itself featured a custom design created by Bryan Davis.

A headline moment of the evening was the presentation of the High School Angler of the Year awards, which went to Jackson Davis and Aiden Cantrell. Cantrell was also honored with the High School Big Fish award.

Among the middle school competitors, Lucus Marino and Brantlee Fletcher were named the Middle School Anglers of the Year. Fletcher also took home the Middle School Big Fish award.

Several other specialty awards were handed out to recognize standout contributions across the team:

  • The Senior Award: Presented to Kaleb Rhodes.
  • The Cane Pole Award: Given to both Jax Henson and Nathan Allen.

In addition to the awards presentation, the evening featured guest speaker Pastor Danny Garrett. Pastor Garrett shared a personal fishing story from his own life, alongside a fishing narrative from the Bible, to inspire the team and families in attendance.
