The Greater Woodruff Area Ruritan Club is calling on the community to help make a difference in the lives of local cancer patients and families in need by participating in a special donation drive on Saturday, July 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

The collection will take place in the Builders’ Room at First Baptist Church in Woodruff. Donations will be used to assemble care bags for patients receiving treatment at Gibbs Cancer Center, while additional contributions of bottled water and fans will be distributed to individuals and families in need throughout the community.
Items requested for the cancer care bags include:
- Chapstick
- Lotion
- Hand sanitizer
- Puzzle books
- Pens, pencils, and colored pencils
- Travel-size tissues
- Bottled water
- Individually packaged snacks such as crackers, chips, and granola bars
- Hard candy
- Blankets
The Greater Woodruff Area Ruritan Club is partnering with Women Designed for Purpose and The Establishment to coordinate the community-wide effort. Organizers say even the smallest donation can bring comfort and encouragement to someone facing cancer treatment or help provide relief to neighbors during the summer heat.
Community members who are able are encouraged to stop by during the collection hours and contribute one or more of the requested items. Every donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated and will help bring hope, comfort, and practical support to those who need it most.
