The Spartanburg County Pet Resource Center has shared instructions for people seeking to reclaim cats previously surrendered to CLiFs No Kill Shelter & Rescue, along with ways the community can help care for the animals.
How to Reclaim a Cat
People seeking to reclaim a cat should email prcinfo@spartanburgcounty.gov with as much identifying information and proof of previous ownership as possible.
Include any available details, such as:
- Microchip number
- Gender and age
- Distinct markings or other identifying features
- Photos
- Veterinary and medical records
- Approximate dates when the cat was surrendered
How the Community Can Help
The center says its staff, fosters and rescue partners are working to ensure the cats receive the care and support they need. Community members can help through fostering, adopting, volunteering or donating supplies.
Foster
The center provides food, supplies and support, while foster caregivers provide a home and care.

Adopt
At the time of its update, the center reported a $25 adoption special, with adoption fees waived for pets that have been at the center for more than 30 days. Contact the center for current availability and adoption details.
Volunteer
Residents with time to give can help support the center’s work.

Donate Supplies
Cat litter, wet cat food and dry cat food are especially needed. Donations can be dropped off outside the Adoption Lobby and help support animals in foster care.
