Woodmont Middle School Student Mijah Lee Landrum Wins with Poem “The Moon Light”
The Woodruff Times is proud to recognize Mijah Lee Landrum, a student at Woodmont Middle School, as the Middle School Division winner of our Writing Competition. Her winning entry, a poem titled “The Moon Light,” showcased her creativity and passion for writing.
Mijah’s journey to South Carolina began when her family relocated from Kansas City, Missouri, to be closer to relatives. Although leaving behind family, friends, and familiar surroundings was challenging, she has embraced her new community and built meaningful friendships.
Known as a social butterfly, Mijah enjoys dancing, singing, K-pop, sushi, and exploring new experiences. She has also participated in dance and tried out for her school’s step team.
Beyond her creative talents, Mijah has a heart for helping others. While serving on her school’s safety patrol, she took pride in assisting students with special needs as they traveled from their buses to their classrooms. Her kindness and compassion earned her a Kindness Award last school year.
At home, Mijah enjoys life with her parents, three brothers, and grandmother, affectionately known as Nana.
Writing holds a special place in Mijah’s heart. She loves transforming ideas from her imagination into stories and poems that others can connect with and enjoy.
The Woodruff Times congratulates Mijah Lee Landrum on her outstanding achievement and celebrates her creativity, kindness, and bright future.
We are proud to recognize young writers who inspire others through the power of words.
