PELZER — Friends of the Community-Upstate has announced plans to serve Thanksgiving meals in November, with registration capped at 1,000 meals because of limited resources.
According to the organization, meal pickup will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. at Pelzer First Baptist Church, 6 Reed Street in Pelzer. The announcement did not specify the pickup date.
People picking up meals should drive behind the church and down the alley, where volunteers will bring plates to their vehicles.
Registration required
Anyone needing a meal must register through the organization’s Google Form. Social media comments will not count as registrations.
The organization says the registration form and volunteer opportunities are available on its Facebook page.
Limited delivery available
Delivery is available for elderly community members who cannot pick up meals in person and have a Belton, Pelzer, Piedmont or Williamston address.
Delivery must be scheduled by emailing office@friendsofthecommunityupstate.org. Availability is limited by the number of volunteers.
Questions about additional assistance, volunteering, donations or sponsorships may also be sent to office@friendsofthecommunityupstate.org.
