Main street in Woodruff will soon be home to a new Tractor Supply store.
The retailer will be located next to the Dollar General plaza in the 300 block of North Main Street. The site work began in late April.
“We’re excited to join the Woodruff community with this new store,” said Abby Brown, a PR/marketing representative with Tractor Supply.
Brown said that the store will open in Fall 2020 and that, as of press time, they do not anticipate any issues with development due to COVID-19. The Woodruff location is one of 40 stores in South Carolina and one of 80 stores opening in 2020.
City Manager Lee Bailey said that the City of Woodruff worked with Tractor Supply for almost a year to close the deal to bring the retailer to Woodruff. “The City Council wants to make sure a project will be a win for our citizens.”
Bailey adds: “[Tractor Supply] chose to locate in Woodruff due to our growth projections, demographics and location of retail store that compete with Tractor Supply.”
The store will provide about 15 new jobs to the area, with at least half of those being full-time positions, according to Brown.
Local contractor Harrison and Son was hired to do the sitework and water and sewer for the project but did not respond to calls from us before press time to discuss their involvement in the project further.
Tractor Supply serves its communities as an essential, needs-based retailer, providing everyday products for customers such as animal feed, pet food and supplies, propane, fencing, garden supplies, home supplies and more.
